Our client LT Foods has been a consistent provider of quality basmati rice for over 50 years. LT Foods Europe set up 6 years ago, aimed at enlarging its private label business, expanding its retail and HoReCa network, and increasing brand equity for its flagship brand Daawat in the European market. The brand philosophy of Daawat is to provide the freshest and highest quality basmati rice from farm to fork. LT Foods is committed to improving the living conditions of the farming communities that supply its food through various developmental and empowerment initiatives.

To strengthen the European team, our client is looking for an experienced and ambitious packaging specialist to join the team in the Maasvlakte office in a full-time role.

What will you do?

In this role, you will be responsible for managing the entire packaging process, ensuring that all products are packaged safely, legally, and in line with company standards. Your duties will include overseeing packaging design, engineering, quality control and product life cycle management.

A key part of your role will involve managing the launch of new SKUs. You will coordinate launch activities across Sales, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Production teams, ensuring that packaging development and delivery meet key milestones. You will develop guidelines that align with production line capabilities, work closely with agencies and suppliers for artwork and new packaging developments, and track the progress of these activities weekly. Ensuring that packaging orders and shipments are on schedule will be a critical responsibility.

You will also play a vital role in resolving technical problems related to packaging materials, working in close cooperation with material suppliers. While machine-related issues fall under the production team, you will support the resolution of any material-related issues that may arise.

In addition, you will drive initiatives for sustainable packaging, keep management informed of market changes affecting packaging materials and costs, and maintain up-to-date knowledge by attending packaging fairs. You will also develop strong relationships with suppliers, ensure compliance with European packaging waste legislation, and create standard operating procedures for the department.

What is your background?

Bachelor or Master degree in Packaging Technology/Engineering or an equivalent

A few years of experience in packaging engineering or packaging development

Working experience in a production environment, FMCG food industry would be an asset

G food industry would be an asset
Very good project management skills

Interest in sustainability: defining solutions, implementing packaging projects

Good verbal and written communication skills. English is required. Good command of Dutch is preferred
